A Best Foreign Friend
When I first came to university,I met my good friend. Her name is Sara. I still remember how I met her. I wanted to go to the library, but I lost my way.At that time,a beautiful girl appeared, she had brown hair, green eyes and was dressed in a skirt. She smiled at me and asked whether she could help me or not. No doubt. Finally she led me to the library and left a contact number in case I needed help again. To be honest, she was so nice and differetn from other native girls. She used her warm heart to help the foreigner and never looked down at her.During Christmas,I even received her invitation, she invited me go to her home on long island and had a Christmas party. She wanted to show me a native American holiday. At her home, I saw a big Christmas tree with a lot of decorations. She showed me around her home and let me see many of her family and her favor photos. In addition,What made her amazing thing is her trip to China. Two years ago,she acted as a volunteer and went to China to teach English. She found the Chinese people were so enthusiastic which made her trip unforgettable. She still clearly remembers all her chinese students' names. She said she had never seen such nice people there.I think that is the reason why she is so nice to me.Actulally I found all people in NY to be cool until I met Sara.Sara had been to China and she received much love from Chinese people. She understands that love is not had as a gift, but love is earned.I am so happy to make a friend with such a special American girl, who uses her heart to help everyone. Even now when I face difficulty in this uniersity, she still tries her best to help me,listening to my complaints and finding ways to help me settle down.Because of her,I will not feel I am lonely and helpless.I like this American girl, she is so special.

Hi Li!
Welcome!!! I really enjoyed reading your posting about your friend Sara, she sounds so nice and genuine. You were lucky to meet her like you did.
I have a similar story from Russia. A few years ago, my friend and I were travelling in Russia for about three weeks. Neither of us spoke any Russian at all, and on three seperate occasions, we had women come out of nowhere to offer a helping hand or to take us safely to someplace that we really needed to go. We called them our "Guardian Angels" and I will never forget them. Although I don't keep in touch with them, I try to help others like they did for me.

Hi, How lucky are you, same as me. Thank you to sharing your life experience. It reminds me 23years ago, when I first visits USA, Johnason and Grace they are helping me, I stay their home for two weeks, they always help new immigrats for many years. He is a successful business man and she is a dancer, I don't know them till I stay with them in New Jersey. Today, I moved to NYC, one of many reasons, they are my good sample madel, I can be help others too.
